The Deep Green Sea

The moments before the lights turn off
over the deep green sea and a time
when the night creatures start 
to come out to play.

Some that are so small-
you can try to grab them, 
But they will wiggle
and giggle away. 

Some that are so special-
you even forget 
you’re deep under, 
as they glow
like the shiny night sky.

Some that are long and slippery-
you will want to get away, 
as the floating spaghetti
will try and grab you back, 

and there are some,
that are so large,
they could swallow
a naughty child in whole. 

But don't worry little ones,
they are only dangerous 
if you happen to go for a swim,
when the lights go out
over the deep green sea.
